Basic Skills Class

Ocean Waves Class

This will be a five week course where you will learn the basics of fusing glass. Instruction includes cutting glass, the different forms of glass, and understanding the firing of a kiln. Students will design and complete the following 5 projects: A kiln carved sun catcher, a 6” plate, a 6" bowl, a night light and a project selected by the student. This will be open to ages 16 and up. Cost for class is $200.00 and includes all materials, tools and firings.

Let's Make Waves!  If you have completed the basic skills class, here is a project to utilize all that you have learned about fusing glass.  In this class we will cut pieces of glass to create the movement in the wave.  We will use frit (crushed glass) to accent the wave with whitecaps for a more realistic wave. As you know, everything in nature has its own signature and each of you will put their own spin on the project.  This project is meant to be displayed in a stand which can be purchased separately.  This will be open to ages 16 and up. Cost for class is $95.00 and includes all materials (excluding the stand) and firings.

If you have completed the basic skills class, here is another project to utilize all that you have learned about fusing glass.  Come find out the secret of making glass bend and move in a unique way in the kiln. There are endless color palettes you can use to make this project uniquely yours and have a great time doing it and create something beautiful.  This project can simply be displayed in a stand or slumped into a bowl.  This will be open to ages 16 and up.  Cost for class is $95.00 and includes all materials (excluding the stand) and firings.

We will be creating little glass scenes which will be attached to a blank greeting card.  This class will be utilizing glass powder, frit and small elements to create the little scene. We will create two greeting cards. No glass cutting skills will be required for this class.  This will be open to ages 10 and up. Cost for class is $50.00 and includes all materials and firings.

Come to this class and channel your inner master.  Make your own unique glass artwork in the style of Piet Mondrian. You choose the color palette and pattern.  In this class you will be making a 10" square plate and will learn how to manage the black lines with ease. This will be open to ages 16 and up and requires glass cutting skills (Basic Skills Class is recommended but not required prior to taking this class). Cost for this class is $100.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.

This is a two-day class. In this class you will be designing two pendants with fusing glass and glass elements (frit, murine and stringers). This is a great fun class for beginners. Will require basic cutting skills which we will learn during this class. This is open to ages 16 and up. (Basic Skills Class is recommended but not required prior to taking this class). Cost for this class is $65.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.

If you have completed the basic skills class, here is another project to utilize all that you have learned about fusing glass. This is a two day where you will learn techniques using stringers to create stunning designs that are mimic textile patterns. Get ready to explore this exciting fusing technique to create detailed and dynamic works of glass art. On the day one of this class, you will explore options in color and select stringers to create the basis for your "woven" look. On the second day of class, you will use your stringer sheets to create fabulous full-size projects. If you like, you can search the internet for textile-like designs that appeal to you. We will review them in class and choose colors for your own unique projects. Cost for this class is $100.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.

In this class you will be creating a small round or square pendant using dichroic glass. Basic glass cutting skills are required, which we will learn during this class. Dichroic glass (also known as Dichro) is a multi-colored glass with reflective properties. Dichroic glass is available in several textures and colors. Dichroic glass is produced by stacking layers of glass and micro layers of Quartz Crystal and Metal Oxides to create decorative glass with shifting color structures. This is open to ages 16 and up. (Basic Skills Class is recommended but not required prior to taking this class). Cost for this class is $65.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.

In this class you will be decorating a precut easter egg. We will have some fun with stringers and murrine. Basic glass cutting will be required, which we will learn in class. This is open to ages 10 and up (note that anyone under the age of 16 must be register with an adult age 18 and older). Cost for this class is $45.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.

These beautiful vases hang on the wall, hold water, and a few fresh cut flowers of your choice. They also make great rooters if you are trying to root a vine for transplanting. But don’t worry, if you don’t have a green thumb, fake flowers look great in them too!  Basic glass cutting will be required, which we will learn in class. This is open to ages 16 and up. (Basic Skills Class is recommended but not required prior to taking this class). Cost for this class is $65.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.

This little tea light may be small but it is big on gorgeous.  We will be making 2 of these little beauties.  You will need to have some glass cutting skills which we will learn during this class.  Basic Skills Class is recommended but not required prior to taking this class. This is open to ages 16 and up.  Cost for this class is $60.00 and includes all materials, tools, and firings.
